PRIVACY

The Literacy Coalition of Central Texas is committed to respecting the privacy of its clients, donors, employees, volunteers and affiliated agencies and organizations.

Personal Information

The Literacy Coalition routinely records personal information about clients and donors such as name, address, telephone numbers, email addresses, credit card information, gender and occupation. We maintain a record of payments and contributions. Any information we retain is for our own internal records or fundraising purposes only. No donor information is given to, sold to or shared with any other third party for any reason except where legally required.

Whether or not to provide contact or other personal information about yourself on this website is completely your own choice. In general, we ask you to provide information only for the purposes of 1) Accepting donations through our online donation form or 2) in response to your request to join our newsletter email distribution list. Some of the information requested through our donation form is collected so that we can address any issues that may arise with your contribution. We may not be able to process your contribution or inquires without the information we request.

Cookies

This website uses “cookies,” which are encrypted strings of text that a website stores on a user’s computer to provide certain features or functionality.  Without cookies we will not be able to keep information you enter on multiple pages together.  Cookies also enable us to customize the website and offerings to your needs and provide you with a better online experience.  We do not use cookies to ascertain any personally identifiable information about you apart from what you voluntarily provide to us. You may set your browser to block cookies (consult the instructions for your particular browser on how to do this), although doing so may adversely affect your ability to use certain functionality and access certain content on the website.

We and our third-party service providers may use “pixel tags” (also known as “clear gifs” and “beacon gifs”).  Pixel tags are not visible to the user of a website and consist of a few lines of computer coding delivered with the web page.  Pixel tags are not used to collect any personally identifiable information about you apart from what you voluntarily provide to us.

Communication

The Literacy Coalition wants to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. If you would rather not receive information from us via mail or email, please let us know by sending an email to communication@willread.org. Please be sure to include your full name, email address, mailing address, and what information you do not want to receive. If you would like to update or correct your email address, mailing address or any other personal information, please contact us the same way. Please note that any request to remove or update your personal information may take up to ten business days to process.

Security and Other Websites

We will protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.  We are responsible only for the policy and content of this website.  We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites that you may access from this website, including any websites to which we provide links.

Policy Changes

The version of this policy contained on our website is considered the current version. It is subject to change at any time. Changes will take effect on the date the changes are made. The new policy will apply to all current and past users of our website and will replace any prior policies that are inconsistent. The current privacy policy was posted in July 2016.
