A Message to Our Community

After much consideration of our responsibility to our community, the Literacy Coalition of Central Texas decided on March 13th, 2020 to close our office and satellite locations to the public until public health conditions allow us to safely and responsibly open again. We continue to adhere to recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Travis County orders, and the City of Austin Public Health Department in regard to our public programs and services. At this time, we are closed to the public and operating remotely and by appointment only.

We are committed to continuing to serve our students and partners by using familiar and new technologies. This is a fluid situation and we will provide ongoing updates for students and partners on our programs and available services.

Students and clients, please contact your program instructors or info@willread.org and 512-326-8655 ext 137 with any questions – we are here to support you!

For any LCCT clients in need of emergency financial assistance during this situation, your Social Services staff member assigned to your case will continue to be in contact to ensure you are supported in maintaining the safety and stability of you and your families. In the event you have any concerns or questions, please contact Adam Benden, LMSW, Director of Social Services, at adam.benden@willread.org or 512-326-8655 x101 about LCCT’s efforts to maintain case management and clinical services to clients during this time.

Partners may contact partnerships@willread.org or 512-326-8655 ext 120.

We take protecting the at-risk members of our community and slowing the spread of COVID-19 very seriously and temporarily closing our in-person services is a critical step for the safety of our community. We care deeply for all our students and community members and are aware that this crisis is having a profound effect on many families we work alongside.

At this time, there are no known reports of COVID-19 cases associated with the Literacy Coalition of Central Texas. This page will be updated with information and students and staff will be alerted should we become aware of any cases reported involving the Literacy Coalition.

The well-being of our staff and the communities we serve is our top priority. We are continuously assessing the situation and working to make thoughtful decisions. We’ll move quickly to adapt appropriately as new information becomes available.

Building stronger communities means healthy communities, so we encourage everyone to take care of themselves and each other. The Literacy Coalition will continue to prioritize the community we serve and make informed decisions with this in mind.
