Hi,
I am Guadalupe Alvarado and I would like to talk about my experience studying at the Literacy Coalition Of Central Texas. First of all I want to say that I didn’t know that there were people volunteering to help students in homework and in classes. I was not used to searching social network for places where I could go to take classes, but I learned thanks to the pandemic.
I want to say that I am very proud to have attended this campus because it changed my life in many ways and although there were occasions when I got frustrated for not understanding an exercise quickly and felt like not returning to the campus, at the same time I did not want to give up and learned that everything has to do with perseverance and discipline with which one does things to finally reap the fruits.
What most encouraged me to continue attending was the kind of teachers that there were because they guided me with great dedication and good moods. I said to myself that I no longer just wanted to reach the goal for myself but I wanted to do it for all of them who sacrificed their time to be there and help me and my classmates to learn the subjects, which they do it with love and dedication, but above all with a lot of patience. I felt indebted and wanted to pay them with good grades because they spend their time teaching us. Every time that I passed an exam they were very happy with my achievements and encouraged me to try harder every day. I do not deny that in some occasions I felt like not attending anymore because it was difficult for me, but I know that nothing is easy in this life.
The truth is that the teachers give you so much strength to keep going and at the same time they look for a way to explain in different ways so that you can understand the best you can.
I want to add that I feel very grateful to each and every one of my teachers for the work they did for me to reach my goal and obtain my GED diploma. I will never forget them and I will never tire of blessing them and thanking them for their good work.
This letter is dedicated to my soul teachers: Don, Taylor, Camille, Laura.
