financial literacy for familiesThe Literacy Coalition is delighted to share that our PALS Piggy Bank Project was a success! Sponsored by Comerica Bank, the Piggy Bank Project was a fun-filled event dedicated to celebrating Dia del Niño and Financial Literacy Month! We promoted financial literacy and helped our PALS families build a strong foundation of lifelong savings.

In addition to learning about the importance of saving money and how to set achievable savings goals, PALS families won exciting raffle prizes and kids received their very own piggy bank to take home- along with a dollar to start their savings. One of the highlights of the day was the knowledgeable Comerica volunteers who helped our PALS kids build their savings plans!

Financial literacy is a critical component of self-sufficiency, key to unlocking economic mobility, and an important step in breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. The Literacy Coalition and Comerica Bank share a commitment to promoting financial literacy for families! We’re working towards a Central Texas community where everyone has the tools to make informed financial decisions.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported the Piggy Bank Project!
