I missed sharing my latest read with everyone. In the past months, I’ve been on the move, and with my library and to-be-read list packed, I haven’t been able to enjoy the pages of a good story. As September arrived, I unpacked and shelved many, many, many boxes of books. For my first read after the hiatus, I selected one of my favorite authors, Brad Meltzer and The Nazi Conspiracy.
This story takes readers through twists, turns, continents, and historical characters. Germany aimed to create one strong nation that “would make Germany great again,” and the Allies, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, the United States, and many more opposed the Axis powers. Growing up, I heard the names, knew there was a war, and was told about the lives stolen, but until reading the book, I never really understood the challenges and consequences faced by the Allies. The story also helped me realize the relationship between the Soviet Union and the Allies and the threat of annihilation faced by Stalin’s people. The world was at war, and The Nazi Conspiracy placed you in the center of it all, forced you to take a side, and brought out dynamics that most history books glazed over or avoided.
