LITERACY FORWARD CENTRAL TEXAS
Literacy Forward aims to improve the quality of instruction happening in Central Texas programs and classrooms. We provide free training, instructional resources, and professional development to both new and existing volunteer instructors and to literacy program staff at Literacy Coalition member organizations.
The Literacy Coalition offers free training sessions for instructors and volunteers new to teaching English as a Second Language and Adult Basic Education, or for those just looking for a refresher.
Training sessions are held on consecutive Saturdays throughout the year and are open to both staff and volunteers in Central Texas. Choose between English Forward for ESL instructors and Adult Basic Literacy Forward for ABE instructors. Register by contacting clicking the links below.
Training sessions are held at LifeWorks East: 835 N. Pleasant Valley Road, Austin, 78702. Space is limited to 25.
What you should know before registering for a training:
Attendance is required for both days of the training. If you don't believe that you can attend both days, please do not register. We usually have a lengthy wait list for each training and we want to make sure that everyone who can attend both days is able to register. Each day of the training includes a one hour break for lunch, so be prepared to pack a lunch or drive to one of the nearby restaurants.
Registration for each training will open after the previous training is complete.
2018 TRAINING DATES
Registration for each training will become available after the previous training takes place:
Upcoming English Forward Training Dates in 2018
August 24 & 31
Upcoming Adult Basic Literacy Forward Training Dates in 2018
September 8 & 15
If there are no registrations available, fill out the form below to be notified of future training sessions through the Literacy Break Newsletter!
