This page is where you can find all of the resources you need for the Master Trainer Certification Program. You’ll find all of the handouts, worksheets, and articles right here, as well as the agenda for each of our meetings!
The dates for the Master Trainer Certification Program meetings are:

August 12 Meeting
Before attending this meeting, you should:
Submit your bio and a new picture for the site (click here to email your bio and picture)
Note: If your current bio is up-to-date, you do not need to submit a new one. Also, if you are satisfied with your current picture, you do not need to submit a new one. If you submit a new one, black and white is not acceptable.
Read and sign the trainer policies and agreements(here are links to the local policy, non-local policy, local agreement, non-local agreement)
Be sure to print and bring both the local and non-local versions!
Fill out practice invoice (click here to download practice invoice and scenarios)
Read and respond to your assigned article:

September 9 Meeting
Before this meeting, you should:

October 6 Meeting
Before this meeting you should:
- Contribute to the portal (if signed up to do so)
- Meet with your mentees at least once
- Watch the “Effective Facilitation Webinar” before 9/26
- Fill out the Training Styles Inventory and bring to the October meeting
- Read Bringing Literacy to Life Chapter 2: Approaches and Materials
- Answer discussion questions about the reading (Click here to access the discussion questions)
November 11 Meeting
Before this meeting you should:
- Complete survey on Mentee Observation (sent through email on 10/23)
- Meet with your mentees at least once
- Submit all necessary documents related to the mentorship program (agreements, summaries, etc.)
- Read Observing and Providing Feedback to Teachers of Adults Learning English (CAELA Brief)
- Answer discussion questions about the reading (click here to access discussion questions)
December 9 Meeting
Before this meeting you should:
- Complete the English Forward Webinar found under “Training Materials” before Decemer 9
- Complete the “Assessing Knowledge Base” worksheet and submit it to Wendy through email by 12/1
- Read the article “Principles of Instructed Second Language Acquisition (CAL Digest)“

January 13 Meeting
Before this meeting you should:
- Prepare to discuss your experience in the mentorship program thus far
- Read the article “Reflective Practice in the Professional Development of Teachers of Adult English Language Learners (CAELA Brief)“

February 10 Meeting
For this meeting you should:
- Bring the Trainer Action Plan you worked to complete during the October Master Trainer Certification Program meeting
- Prepare to discuss your experience with your mentees in implementing the realia toolkit creator
- Work to either complete or schedule your second (and final) mentee observation(s)
